How to Marry a Millionaire, 1953, was Marilyn Monroe's 18th (credited) film. She played blind, stupid, and witty Pola Debevoise. She starred alone side Bette Grable and Lauren Bacall. This film was about the 3 girls trying to find millionaires to love but end up finding true love instead. In this film, Marilyn wears glasses but is worried men won't find her attractive so she walks around "blind as a bat." This was one of the first films that started making people think Marilyn was actually a "dumb blonde" but people forget she was just playing a character. The apartment building used for the filming was located in Sutton Place, NYC. The location of the building began her love for Sutton Place. 3 years later she moved to Sutton Place with future husband, Arthur Miller.
